Portland Snow!
I try and tell people that the only way to get out of these deep freezes that you are in is to have a system move on through to scour out the cold air. This is the typical snow storm. High pressure to the east with very cold air, low pressure from the south with warmer wet conditions. South of salem will be nice and rainy quickly. However that good ol' gorge acts to keep the rest chilly. Skyline, you will warm up before lincoln will, its just how these work. It is called an inversion, cold wind will pump out of the gorge and keep places liek PDX and troudale cold whereas West hills will pick up a south wind and warm up. Nevertheless, all of portland will see snow tonight and tomorrow, followed by sleet and possible freezing rain. I say in total about 3-4 inches before rain comes later saturday night. Warmer system Monday should melt most of the snow! :( REMEMBER, West and High elevation=warm and East and low elevation=cold.

STORM UPDATE
For east coasters-
Deep low pressure over wisconsin now will progress NE into our area. Will hit chuck first with heavy snow fall. 2-4 inches over night for you kiddo. Transition to rain tomorrow though as you pick up a South wind after the Low passes. The storm will progress into the Vermont region wendesday morning. SHOULD BE VERYYYY EXCITING!!!

Week of the 7th forecast
Snow EVERYYYYWHERE except here in Vermont! Killing me. Literally everywhere I do forecast for saw snow flakes yesterday including PORTLAND OREGON! Crazy!
Portland
STill under the influence of this cold jet stream, but when were get this northerly pattern, not much in the way of significant snowfall. The low that slid down last night and this morning brought snow flakes a possible dusting in some places, but nothing major. This cool pattern will continue for most of the week, with temperatures right above freezing with mostly sunny skies, tomorrow most of the city wont even get above freezing. Temperatures in oregon are close to that of Anchorage Alaska. Pretty amazing. Have a good week and dress warmly!
Utah
Very low jet stream is allowing for chillllyyy temperatures. The low that brought snow to portland last night and mainly Idaho will turn east monday and give you a good amount of snow with high temperatures right around freezing and then cooling off tuesday to 24. WIll remain below freezing for the remainder of the week with scattered snow showers.
Denver
The snow from N utah turns to the east today and gives you snow showers. I'd say about 2 inches and maybe even more in some areas. Temperatures will be in TEENS! for much of the week. The low pressure system that brought portland snow will turn east and come into your neck of the woods Monday night and bring a couple more inches of snow. After that system clears your area you should clear out and "warm" up to the mid 20s thursday and gradual warm up to 40 by saturday. Enjoy the FREEeEZZZING cold temps.
(JUST REALIZED IITS YOUR BREAK SO NO ONE IS THERE!) DUHHHH DANNY
Cuse
Lake affect snow today will bring snow showers but above freezing temperatures cause little sticking to occur. Continued lake affect in place until a low moves NE from the oklahoma. This will bring a wintery mix and snow showers. Temperatures will be in the mid 30s for the week. Still hoping for that big snow storm!
ALbany
A weak high pressure is over the NE and allow mostly clear skies with highs right around 40. NExt big system moves in on wednesday with a snow rain mix. more updates this later on the week.
Boston
High pressure of NE will give some sunshine today, however, a weak system drops in tomorrow night and could give a few flakes. The main system is wedneday as a deep low tracks from the south to give a rain show mix with breezy conditions. i think in boston this will be mainly rain as we get more of the onshore flow, but possible snow in the morning hours.
Vermont
Gorgeous day today with highs around 36 then tomorrow I think we will get our first measurable snowfall in BTV. A weak system from canada is dropping into our area tomorrow after 2pm into the night hours. I'd say snowfall max will be 1-2 inches but mainly under that. After tomorrow we will have a break tuesday and then get hit with a pretty strong system. Tracking this has been difficult. As the storm approaches we will have only snow as we have a N wind, but once we get the low parrallel with BTV it will turn to rain as we pick up a S wind. Into the night hours it will return back to snow HOPEFULLY. This should give the mountains what they need. After wedneday looking a few other poential systems a nd highs not reaching freezing.
Fun Fact of the Day-
Denver could be reaching its RECORD low temperature tonight with a low of 3 degrees! BRRRRRR

December 4th weekend forecast
Hey everyone! Finals are coming up and the work is piling up! Biggest game in duck history tonight and that will not help my work load. Ha lets look at the forecast.
Portland-
Winter weather pattern we are going to get into. When the jet stream drops out of alaska it means cold and usually dry weather. For tomorrow we still have a strong ridge above us then into the weekend we get a weak bands of moisture moving in from the north. Combine with unusally cool temperatures, snow flakes could be seen, but nothing big at all. High temperatures will be in the upper 30s in the metro area which is very cold for this time of year. We are going to get lows around 30 so any light moisture that does come from this drier pattern will fall as snow come night time. Let me know! I'll keep my eye out as always and give updates.
UEGE
GAMEDAY! Kick off temp 43 with clear skies! DUCKS 38 Beaves 28 in a dog fight! GO DUCKKKKSSSSS!
Utah
with that sagging jet stream you guys are getting some very cold temperatures. Highs today will reach 29 with lows in the teens and below. tomorrow will warmer with a high around freezing then cloud cover comes in tomorrow night so temps will stay around 20 for tomorrow night. This pattern, like i said to portland I usally very dry. This weekend a system from canada will drop south to give snow showers. High temperatures will remain around freezing with mostly cloudy skies. Lows will be around 20! Have fun in the snow! jealous : (
Denver
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Today a high of 20 with a low of -1! I don't think Ive ever been in such cold weather. The jet stream will move more to the north to warm you up a significant amount tomorrow as you will reach 35 then continue to warm up saturday to 39. Like utah, a low system will come in later for you but from canada sunday. This will be bring snow showers for sunday and a high of 24 as you cool back off. Interesting stuff! Have fun!
NY
Just got hit with some heavy rain in the NE. For chuck, you will see some lake affect moisture for most of the week. this will mean snow for the night time hours, and rain during the day. Sunday looks like the coldest day so that will be the best time for snow. Fish, you will be mostly sunny from here on out with highs around 40 and lows around 25 after tonight. Its crazy how much affect the lake has on the weather. Enjoy the warm weather today, looks like fish will be close to hitting 60 which is relatively unheard of for this time of year.
Boston
Can you say record warm? it is currently 69 at logan international which shatters the old record of 64. We had that strong tropical moisture system move from the north and warm south winds and then as the low became parallel with the high off the coast we got that warm east wind as well. Very warm and crazy. Tomorrow you will "cool" off to 50 and then 40 saturday and sunday with a chance of rain or snow saturday. Pretty crazy how warm this system was.
Vermont
WOw, who say that rain this monring. It was dumping. From that system we picked up close to an inch of rain and some very WARM temperatures. Currently we are 54 degrees which is 2 degrees short of the RECORD. I think we will break that unless the winds shift in time. for the rest of the week and into the weekend we will slowly cool off. Tomorrow high around 45 and maybe a lingering shower and then saturday and sunday we drop to the mid 30s with lows in the mid 20s. I WANT SNOW! On the NAM model it looks like 8 days out we will see some cold weather and then warm back up : ( Looks like I could leave for winter break without seeing a big snow storm!
Fun fact:
As sea temperatures continue to warm with global warming, these tropical disturbances will affect the NE more frequently, messing up ski seasons.

Post TuRkey day break forecast
Hope you all had a wonderful vacation, I know I had a great time in portland. It had been a while and I loved it. Now I have 16 more days here in vermont and i'm back home! Hopefully I get some snow!
Portland
Is it possible that you guys have the most boring forecast? Looks like it! Highs mostly around 50 with partly sunny skies. This will average out the well above average rainfall portland has seen this november. I do have to say the inch of rain on turkey day made for some great turkey day football. Oh How I loved it.
UTAH
Uh oh....You guys might have the most boring forecast! come on west coast! Sunny sunny sunny! highs in the low to mid 40s alllllll week. Welcome back to school boys, looks gorgeous!
Denver
Sunny the next two days with highs in the fifties! looks great. Then weak disturbances move in and cool temps off. Highs will be in the upper 30s weds and thurs. have a good week back!
CUSE
Welcome back boy. Tonight a low off the great lakes scoots on by to bring pretty light rain fall. Temps will remain well above freezing tonight and into tomorrow. As the low moves to the south you will begin to pick up a north wind and that will drastically cool things off. Temps will drop during the day tomorrow as this occurs so toss some snow showers in for tomorrow late day and night. For tuesday and wednesday lingering showers will be either snow or rain depending upon time. Highs should be in the low 40s and lows around freezing.
Albany
Same low bringing chuck some possible snow showers will be bringing you nothing but...RAIN. Ha sorry my man. Being further inland and closer to the ocean will moderate your temps. Wedsnesday seems to be the best day of week weather wise. Temps should be in the low to mid 40s for much of the week.
Boston
The low pressure that is bringing rain to vermont tonight will bring rain tomorrow and tomorrow night for you gals. Look for sunshine after that though for tuesday and wednesday with highs between 45-50. Thursday a major storm will bring heavy rain to the area. Mmore on that for my mid week update. Take it easy!
Vermont
Rain moves in from the canada boarder tonight around 11-12. Should be pretty light shouwers. Tomorrow rain in the morning then a chance for some snow showers as we pick up the north wind. Not much though as most of the moisture has passed. For tuesday and wednesday, mostly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 30s and a slight chance of snow showers. Big rain moves in thursday though.
LOVE!
Fun fact of the day-England has been expierencing record rainfall this month, severe floods have been taking place

Before break forecast
Hey sorry, been very sick and very busy as of late so i haven't been able to forecast. Diagnosed with bronchitis, laryngitis, and a sinus infection so its been a tough week. Also had a speech/debate tourny this weekend WITH all of these illnesses, so it was not pleasent. However, what is pleasant as of now is the weather and the ducks smelling roses.
portland
Truly amazing the rain you have been picking up lately. That will be the first thing I check in the paper this saturday is the rainfall totals. And they just seem to be going up this week. Looking at the satalite there are lots of little showers pouring in (look like speckles). http://www.kgw.com/weather/radar?radar=63612312&img=2&c=y. These speckles indicate cold air mass and heavy unstable showers. So for today heavy showers on and off with a cool temps. Then tomororw showers during the day an then yet another front moves in with even stronger rainfall which will prompt more flood watches and high wind watches on the coast. Another front moves in friday. WET WET WET. Good skiing though it looks like this winter with a solid base already forming atop hood.
Utes
High pressure builds in for most of the week with temps right around fifty. Thursday seems to be the warmest day with a high of 56. Weekend weather looks more snowish as the jet will sag more to the south. you stay classy.
Denver
SUnny all week! Not sure if this is normal fall weahter but it seems gorgeous thus far. Snow or sun! hard to complain!
NY
Sunny today and tomorrow, however thursday rain showers for chuck as front moves off the great lakes and clips your area. Mostly cloudy skies though for your day. Temps in the mid to upper 50s, so well above average for this time of year. Fish same forecast except you get an extra day of sun thursday before the rain moves in thursday night. Friday and saturday seem to be left overs of the front so a few showers but mostly cloudy conditions.
Boston
Same forecast as ny except your rain moves in early morning friday and friday during the day. Should remain mostly dry for friday night so any partays will be dry but weekend shaping up to be gorgeous.
Vt
Sun sun for today and tomorrow and wendesday. then this front moves in off the great lakes to bring rain and a high of 50 to the area. My outlook showers possible snow in 10 days. Its unlikely, but a couple of the models i look at has a cold sector moving across the us within the next week +. Hopefully when we come back from break there is so white on the ground.
Fun fact
The mixture of gases in the atmosphere has taken over 4.5 billion years to evolve.

11/11-11/14
Hey everyone! almost a week til I come home! cannot wait. Weather here on the east coast has been nothing but spectacular whereas i see the west coast has been well, the pacific northwest. lets take a look
Portland
Models just keep bringing one storm after another. Tonight into tomorrow morning another cold front moves in for valley rain and close to a foot of mountain snow. Showers will be on and off for your thursday and thursday night another system moves in. Temps should remain just south of fifty for the week. Over night temps will be dropping into the upper 30s so this is a big burst of cooler air.
Utah
After a mostly cloudy day today, the front that moved through ptown and northern cali will drop down into your region for some modified pacific air. This will not be a snow dumper but deffiently get some flakes flying. Temps tomorrow will still be warm at 50 however after the front passes we'll pick up the N wind and drop high temps into the upper 30s with lows in the upper 20s to lowers 30s. I think most snow we'll see is south of the 1.5 inches mark. After this front moves through more sunshine is on the way for next week bring temps up to around 50 but mid week next week.
Denver
Your chance to see some white moves in a day later than utah. Expect temps to be dropping after tomorrow as this front moves through. Temps will be around 40 and lows in the upper 20s and low 30s. More of the moisutre stays to the south of denver so not as much moisture to freeze this go around. ALl and all though, cool weekend.
EAST COAST
I have not been able to do this yet. GREAT weather on tap for the next two days. BIGGGGG ridge of high pressure is just parked over the NE region. However a low coming off the great lakes will break up this truely impressive fall ridge of high pressure to bring some showers for our saturday. For the next two days temps will be around the low to mid fifties for the region with cuse being the warmest and vermont being the coolest and everyone else right in the middle! have a great weekend! ill keep everyone updated on their weekend weather!
Fun Fact- ALthough we associate hurricanes with late summer, hurricane season does not end until the end of november! Weathermen during Ida said they weren't used to the cool weather with a hurricane!

11/8-11/11
Ducks : ( very saddening loss. our d didnt show up/outsized by a long shot. oh well, gotta turn around and win out and go to the rose bowl. gorgeous weather out here to the east however, portland...not so much. Dumped rain there all weekend and crazy amounts of snow up in the Cascades.
Portland-
Another cold front moves into the area today and tonight. Heavy rain at times and winds will pick up again. for mt hood temps will reach around freezing as the low approaches, however, after the low passes over hood will drastically cool off and get dumped on again. Temps around 51 today and tomorrow. tomorrow, just showers and could dry out eventually. Wednesday another front moves in to bring rain and a high of 46. Lots of rain! but looks like an early start to the ski year
Utah
Sunny today and tomorrow with highs around 58 then wendnesday we'll be most cloudy during the day then as night falls a chance of showers arise with a frontal system coming off the coast. Temps will drop significantly for thursay as you top out at 45.
Denver
Gradual warm up til wednesday when you top out at 70! Partly to mostly sunny skies all week til friday. Temps 55 today, 63 tuesday, and 70 wednesday, and 66 thursday.
NY
Near 70 degrees today for you boys! only questionable day is tomorrow but it generally looks ok. Just a slight chance of showers but mostly cloudy. After tuesday sunshine returns but with cooler temps this go around. Instead of 70, 50 and mostly sunny. But hey, this sun is still shining in november. can't complain too much. In my opinion I'd rather have it snowing or sunny so this is perfect for my taste.
Boston
After a beautiful day today we cool off to 65 tomorrow with mostly cloudy skies then clear out and cool off for the rest of the week. Temps around 52 for wed thur and friday. EAST COAST LOOKS BEAUTIFUL ALL WEEK.
Vermont
I guarantee you we will not hit 67 again this year, so i'd advise getting out and enjoying this beautiful weather. Tomorrow we cool off to 55 and mostly sunny skies, followed by mid 40s and sunny skies. November is giving us some needed rays! I'm liking it.
Fun Fact of the day-

Fun Fact of the day-
The largest tornado in the United States was around two and a half miles wide. It happened in Nebraska in 2004.

Hood snow
Now that the main surge of rain has passed hood is going to pile up snow. Now that there is not that warm south wind the cooler air can move in, and i mean move in. We are looking at 3 feet or more of snow when this weekend is over. Its going to be dumping up there. Hopefully open the resorts by turkey day.

11/04-11/07
Hey everyone. Still basking in the duck victory. oh how jealous i am of everyone who got to go. Great weather is everywhere as of now but things, they are a changin!
Portland
Enjoy the sun today! A cold front from the gulf of alaska drops into town tomorrow with gusty winds. Places on the coast will see gusts as high as 55 mphs. In portland expect 15-20 with gusts around 25. http://weather.unisys.com/nam/36h/nam_pres_36h.html if you look at the lines on the map by portland, you can see how close together they are. This is the pressure gradient which shows the atmosphere trying to stabilize in a shorter area causing heave winds. This will start out as rain on the mountain then as the low passes and we start to pool in some cooler air, then snow levels will drop to about 4000 ft. Place up north of seattle are under a flood watch so this will produce heavy rains. Temps should be around 50 for much of the week and another system rolls in after this. Rainy weather back in portland in november, what are the chances???
Utah
High pressure remains over you for the rest of the work week and into the weekend. Temps peak tomorrow at 69 then begin to drop off by saturday to about 58. Your normal temp for this time of year is 54 and record is 73 tomorrow, so you can see how unusual this great weather is. Get out and enjoy it!
Denver
Great weather still ahead of you. Tomorrow you will reach a high of 74! crazy for this time of year. after tomorrow linear cooling til sunday when you reach a high of 63. Enjoy to fabulous weather!

Albany

Welcome to November! 11/2/09
Hey! Great weekend, duck game was amazing and halloween weekend was a blast. Weather around the us looks pleasant this week, lets take a a look!
Portland
Monday through thursday looks great! High pressure is settled in but some morning fog may occur as night temps get chilly. Sunny afternoons with highs in the upper fifties. My opinion is that this will be the nicest weather week in a while in oregon, so get out and enjoy it! love!
Utah
Blue skies, nothing but sunshine, shining on you! i think thats a song..maybe? ha great weahter temps in the mid to upper 60s all week.
Denver
What a change a week makes. Last week a foot of snow, this week nothing but blue skies and highs in the mid 60s. Have a great week!
Ny
chuckles, hope your birthday was great. This week we go back and forth with cool rain. Today = gorgeous with sunshine and temps near 60. Tomorrow though a cold front from canada moves over the great lakes to give cool rain during the day and a mix of rain/snow over night. Wednesday the sun returns with a high of 48. Thursday a front very similar to tuesday's moves in to give cool temps and chance for snow. Don't think anything will really stick and if it does it will be brief as low temps struggle to reach the freezing mark. Take it easy boys!
Boston
Cloudy/party cloudy skies today-wedesnday as the front coming through ny and vermont stays to your north. As for your rain, wait til thursday as showery conditions move into most of the New England area. High temps right around fifty pretty much all week.
VERM
Get out and enjoy today! most likely will be the nicest day we'll get. Temps drop off dramatically this week after a cold front moves in tuesday and brings showers. Originally we had a chance of snow tuesday night but i think the front will have already passed us and there wont be any precip left. Wednesday the sun comes back but only a high of 42 degrees so it will be cool all day. First real shot at snow seems to be thursday night as we will have a low of 32 and a decent amount of precipitation in the air. Lets keep our fingers crossed!
Fun Fact
Tornadoes have an updraft that causes objects to flow into the tornado itself. Many times as a tornado approaches an buliding the wind direction will make a 180 degree shift and come towards the tornado vs away.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peFOyiYVWm0 which is what we see here. One car is being sucked in as the other is being pushed away and causes them to hit each other. pretty neat stuff.

HALLoWEEN FOReCASt spooooky
HAPPY almost halloween. Can't believe I will not be in Eugene this weekend. Oh well, Autzen will be louder than ever as we stomp on sc.
Portland-Currently a warm front is moving into the area to warm things up a tad bit. Good cells have already moved on shore and through portland this morning. Off and on showers today and then friDAY looks pretty dry as a weak ridge builds in over night into the morning. Next rain maker is friday night which is a cold front and should move in around 12 am sat. However its looking like this should pass by night time so a dry halloween is in order! WOOO! Temps should be in the 50s today, 60 tomorrow, and 53 saturday and halloween night 41!
EUGENE
GAMEDAY looks wet. But kick off looks dry! much rather have it that way, need the ball dry for masoli's bombs to dickson. DUCKS 31 USC 21 in a romping of pac ten elites.
Utah-Lingering clouds from your snow maker will be in plcae today and tomorrow with even a possible LIGHT snow shower. after the low moves off to the east high pressures settles in for a while to bring back the sun for as long as my models show me. Looking at highs around 60 sat-wednes with clear skies. Great halloween weather!
DENVER!!!_!_!_! been watching your snow pile up. Looking like another 5 inches today primarily in the morning as this low is moving east SLOWWWWLY which allows the cells to keep coming into your area. After today though we dry out. Sunshine returns tomorrow with a gradual warm up. 37 tomorrow, 47 saturday, 55 sunday then 60 by monday as a STRONG ridge of high pressure builds in for Ut/denver. Have a fun snow day! just got the text from Lindsey!
(EAST COAST)-WINDYYYYY FRIDAY AND SAT!! Gust up to 50 mphs in some spots
NY
Next real rain maker seems to be moving in for friday. This storm is packin a punch so bring out the umbrellas, temps won't be cold, but it will be windy. i hate to say it but halloween night looks wet, as the low lingers with showers. Highs will be around 60 for the next couple of days with lows around 50 tonight and tomorrow night and then 40 for halloween. Still have fun!
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear chucky poooooooooo, happy birthday to youuuuu!!!!
Boston
Havin fun in the sun? sun will last tomororw then the low hitting most of the east coast comes in for saturday. Since you are father east your best chance of seeing rain actually looks to be saturday night (halloween). Halloween forecast: high of 67 and low of 52 with showers! havve fun!
VERMONT
Warming up this weekend! But rain will be associated too : ( Strong storm is bringing gusty south winds to warm us up. However we will be wet too. After a great day tomorrow with a high of 60 we see the rain return saturday and halloween night looks to be showery. However, warmest temps we've seen in months with a high of 65 on saturday. HAve fun THis weekend!
FUN FACT-Freezing rain is when the majority of the atmosphere is above freezing however, a shallow pocket at the surface is below freezing allowing the rain to freeze on contact. Very common in ptown cause we get that cold east wind to keep us chilly!

Utah/DEN snow
http://sat.wrh.noaa.gov/satellite/loopsat.php?wfo=slc&area=west&type=ir&size=4 if you look here you can see how in portland the clouds are coming from the north. If this was december i'd say snow there. This cool air is pouring into your neck of the woods now. Temps will rise to about 45 today then the low passes and you get a north wind to really cool your temps. So you'll reach your high around noonish then steadily drop temps during what is suppose to be the hottest part of the day. temps tonight around 29 for denver and 26 for utah

Halloween week!
Hello hello, busy last week so i took a break. Hope all of your weather weekends went well, burlington got some heavy rain as did much of the NE but it was exciting and followed up by ol' mr sunshine.
Portland
Big front moved through this morning that brought heavy rain to the coast, Astoria reported 1.25 inches overnight. So it was a wet one. Now that the brunt of the storm as past we are going to cool off as cold air is able to filter into the NW behind the cold front. Snow levels will go down to 2,500 feet. Snow upwards of 2 feet in the cascades when all said and done with this storm. Cool air remains in place for much of the week with temps around 50 for portland. The one dry day looks to be wednesday as we are inbetween lows.LOVE!
Eug
Same forecast a ptown. Cool wet weather til wednesday then a dry day followed by more rain. temps right around fifty.
UTAH
Enjoy today cause its going to get cold for the rest of the week. Like oregon you are going to see some chilly air move in. The low that just moved over the pacific northwest takes a SE turn towards utah. Behind the front there is a big pool of cold air. I think this will be the first measurable snow in Utah this year. High temps for the week are in the low 40s and upper 30s with lows below freezing at 28-30. The brunt of this storm will come as rain however the showers behind it can cause snow the pile up. More details coming.
Denver
Same as Utah pretty much. Dry day tomorrow followed by cold weather. Drop your temps about 10 more degrees though as you are more inland at higher elevation. Don't expect to get out of below freezing weather on wednesday with a high of 32 and snow fall is very likely. Have fun in the snow!
NY
Pretty boring forecast for the NE this week. A series of shortwave lows move in on tuesday night through wednesday to bring the chance of showers. Then dry back out for thursday and friday. Temps tomorrow, thursday and friday around 60 and wednesday around 50. Halloween day looks wet but by night the showers should be diminishing, however it is still a long ways off.
Bost
Same deal as NY. Except for wednesday, pretty great week ahead. Temps around sixty on the dry days and 54 on wednesday.
Vermont
I think this will be the best week of weather we get for a long time. The shortwaves previously mentioned will stay mainly to our south but a shower or 2 is very possible for wednesday. Then thursday and friday look gorgeous as we have mostly sunny skies and high of 56 wednesday and believe it or not 60 on friday. Halloween looks a bit more iffy as a low could move over us and bring rain but temps wont be chilly at all. great news. LOVE
Fun fact
I've been glued to my radar many of times because of bostons heavy rainfall so I wondered, what is bostons average rainfall for october and are they above it. So the average for october is 3.79in of rain and thus far they have recieved 6.20 inches. Very wet.

week ahead
Hey, wild weather most places but here. boston get a nor'easter, portland gets thunder, and vermont gets sunshine. Ha I don't think I should be complaining, my time will come soon enough.
Portland
Looking out into the pacific the storms have aligned them selves for basically every other day for a while. Dry tomorrow with fog as the moisture stays in the ground but the clouds diminish and allow for some long wave radiation to cool atmosphere off. Therefore tuesday morning fog then burning off with a high 63. Wed rain returns but should move quickly in and out. Nothing special with these storms, this is called a "zonal jet" which means these quick every other day storms tend to come into the area. Highs around 60 all week with rain wed friday and sunday. Love!
Utes
Old portland front is giving you rain tonight and into tomorrow. Welcome back to school, got rained on in portland from it then got it again. Come to vermont saturday and get wet from the same system then? Ha after tomorrow the rest of the week looks pleasant with high pressure and cooler temps. Highs around 55 and lows in the low 40s. Next chance of rain seems to be in the weekend. Jet stream to your north so you look good after tomorrow!
Den
A trough off moving into utah now will intensify and become a close low. whats the difference? a trough is an elongated low pressure system where as a low has a cyclonic rotation. This will bring stronger precipitation wed and maybe a couple of snow flakes after that. Low moving further south so the north wind will pumping in cool air. After that thursday and friday look ok with a chance of rain friday night but wouldnt expect much. temps in the mid 50s thurs and fri with lows in the upper twenties.
NY
I was fearing this. Might have to break you guys up into seperate forecasts soon. Chuck, lake effect rain will cause showers tomorrow where as fish will be dry. Cooler air moving west over the great lakes picks up moisture and lets it off over you. Not extreme lake effect rain at all though this week as temps are not that cool. Next organized storm approaches friday into saturday, besides that fish could see showers as well wednesday as low sliding to the north clips the state.
Verm
Holla. A weak front slides to our north to bring a threat of showers (not a good one). As this low comes to our north (first in a while) we'll pick up a south wind. This south wind will warm us up out of this chilly temps. Thursday a warm front moves to our north. this will add chance of rain and keep temps up. Better chance for rain as you go north. Friday seems to be the best day of the week. Temps in the mid 50s all week with 50 on friday as we get that chilly N wind.
FUN FACT: Prior to what most of would think as a humid city, Quillayute, Washington takes the cake as the most humid. When rain falls this makes the humidity sky rocket. Also lower temps causes fog which is extreme humidity. The EUG was number 8 on the list. HOLLLLLAAAAA

weekend weather
hey hey hey, glad mid term are over, very stressed with those. Weather has been COLD here, saw snow flakes but just little babies. Weather looks interesting across the us, lets have a look.
Portland. This storm that has been giving Northern washington inches of rain kept tracking north instead of west. Original forecast for ptown to get slammed as well but not much in the way of rain. That'll change on saturday as the back edge slides into portland. Temps will stay work as this has a lot of tropical air with it. Showers remain in the forecast, but next organize system comes on monday with another good dousing of rain. Highs in the low 60s to upper 50s this weekend.
UTah-You arent at school! But for monday rain from this storm http://sat.wrh.noaa.gov/satellite/loopsat.php?wfo=slc&area=sw&type=ir&size=4. this shows how large this low pressure system is. As this keeps tracking north though i think your rain probability will go down. Tuesday though we cool off into the 50s after been in the 70s.
DENVEr-Gorgeous weekend ahead. High pressure system has allowed you to get out an enjoy the sun. Temps will peak at 80 on sunday. Get out and have fun!
NY- THis front has really been pissing me off. I have been tracking it for a couple days and it cannot make up its mind. unseasonably cool temps are in the place from the north and we have these reminents of this storm that already passed filtering through our area. Chuck it looks as though the brunt of your moisture has already passed, fish though will see rain and snow mixed in, no accumulations though. Highs in the mid 40s and lows right around freezing for both y'all. Next week starts off great with high presure and sunshine. Temps in the MID 50s!!! warmth.
Boston
First Nor'easter this weekend! doesnt look fun though, expect a good amount of rain on sunday as this low is off the coast of the carolinas now. winds will be very strong with this low pressure system. The low will drift off the north and dissipate into the work week as sunshine returns. Temps this weekend right around 50.
Vermont
It has been very cold, so when will the snow fall? not looking like tonight. May see a couple flakes fly as these short waves associated with a passed low move through. I honestly don't think we will see anymore than one shower, we are pretty far to the north. Temps this weekend right around 50 and lows in the low 30s and a lot of sunshine actually. Should warm up next week as we get some moderation with our next high pressure and get some winds out of the east and the ocean air warms us up.
FUN FACT of THE DAY: In Yuma, Ariz the sunshines 90% of the year and is the number 1 sunniest city in america. Oh so lucky
HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND
Temps in the MID 50s!!! warmth.

Week of the 12th
Hey everyone. nice three day weekend, went on a thirty mile bike ride out into the middle of lake champlain on an old rail rode that became a bike bath. very neat.
Portland
Wet week ahead. today seemed to be the last dry day for a while so get out and enjoy it. Strong jet stream pours stroms off the coast into the NW. the first one being a typhoon reminent. Tomorrow rain with a high of 54 then for the rest of the week rain with highs around 60. Love y'all.
Eug
Same forecast as portland. Wet weather is coming your way with tomorrow being the coldest day of the week.
Utah
System from portland will bring rain on wednesday as the jet stream sags to the south. temps will be in the low 60s for much of the week with low temps around 50. Pretty seasonable weather for utah this time of year. Just realized you are all home in portland so this is pointless! ha sorry.
DEN
SUnshine! you guys had a fun weekend and a well deserved break from the active cold weather. Sunshine is coming each day with gradually warming temps. Start out tomorrow with highs around 50 then warming up to 60 by thursday, pretty linear uprising with temps.
NY state of mind
cool weather is coming. if you watch my weather forecast http://www.ustream.tv/channel/uvmtv-live i explain what is giving the cold weather to our area. Snow showers are possible into the early morning hours tonight but no sticking snow. Another system moves off the great lakes thursday and moves west which gives more rain and chance for snow flakes. no acculation though.
Vermont
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/uvmtv-live watch! rain tonight and tomorrow with cold temps! alberta clipper keeps us COOOOL all week. but sunshine is in the forecast after tomorrow and wednesday.
FUN FACT: an alberta clipper is when warm (relative to canada) comes off the ocean and accelerates down the canada rocky mountains and creates a low preasure system. This system speeds up rapidly through canada to the great lakes and NE. It is called a clipper storm because a clipper is a fast type of boat and the clipper system moves very vast!

EUGE! SUNSHINE for the weekend! highs in the mid 60s. LETS GO O! score predic: O 34-10. the wheals just keep on turnin!

High tomorrow of 53 and mostly sunny. Same scenario for sunday, however, monday y'all warm up to about 62 as a more westerly flow comes in. have a good weekend!
DENVER! sunshine today but then a strong cold front over Wyoming comes down to colorado. the further south you are the less chance for snow but better chance for freezing rain. Low of about 16! tomorrow and only a high of 32. this should be interesting. low of 17 for saturday night but then sunday the low passes and we begin to warm back up, high of 43 degrees. by mid week next week sunshine returns with highs in the mid 60s.
NY-rain today coming from the SW moving NE.you guys will get hit harder than we will here in vt. expect rain and showers for the rest of the day. ya'll stay relativly dry for the remainder for the weekend with passing showers left over from this low. highs in the mid to upper 50s.
SCORE PREDICTION west va 41 cuse 27
BOSTON
Rain today and tonight, then high pressure builds in to give some sunshine. Expect some heavy winds though for saturday as the pressure gradient is really strong next to boston. looks like a great weekend though!
VT-
Rain today coming from the SW moving NE. Don't think we will pick up too much measurable precipitation but the clouds will be present. tonight shower should pick up and we can get a quarter of an inch of rain. for the rest of the weekend sunshine with ihghs in the upper 50s. Monday we cool off with highs in the low 40s and mountain snow. here at uvm we may see flakes but nothing will stick.
FUN FACT-July 4, 1956, 1.23 inches of rain fell in Unionville, MD in ONE MINUTE!!!! that would break 95% of portland 24 hour rain records!

Wed-Friday Oct 6
Hey hey hey. Went on a beautiful bike ride this week. Trees are starting to change colors and its quite spectacular (very touristy thing to say I've learned). Fall weather here is much like oregon, rain and clouds. Ha right at home.
Portland--Don't know what I am talking about, rain? clouds? fall weather? Ha week ahead still looks beautiful. Tomorrow (wed) looks to be the worst of the week. Weak on shore flow comes from a low dropping into idaho. Air moves from high pressure to low pressure to reach an equilibrium, this means air from offshore comes into the valley. after the clouds burn off tomorrow don't expect to see any for a while. We heat up to about 63 tomorrow then mid 60s from the rest of the week. http://www.kgw.com/weather/pacificsatellite.html shows how off the west the pacific looks clear for a week of sun!
Utah-High pressure that is keeping oregon dry is also keep you dry. Sunshine will stay in your area for quite some time. I htink you will hit your max temp on friday with a high of 63 as the ridge of high pressure moves over top of you.
Denver-Another fun forecast for me! tomorrow high pressure and a high of 75. THEN thursday through sunday we have what are called shortwaves that are apart of a strong coldfront moving through colorado. Shortwaves are not cyclonic but just strong waves of energy. They will be hard to time and timing will show how cool thursday will be. If the timing plays out right snow flakes are a good possibility into thursday night.Friday we dry back out with a high of 56 but then right back down into the low forties for saturday with a high of 40. Saturday night could again bring possibility for snow fall. let me know!
CUSE-
Same forecast holds from previous discussion. Strong westerly flow will bring showers and rain for wednesday. VERY WINDY! then thursday a weak ridge builds over the area to bring sun and clouds with a high of 67. After that another system moves in for the weekend to bring more rain : ( love you
VT HOME BOYS
Same forecast as ny really. We are going to get hit pretty hard by this storm moving in from the west. We will see heavy showers in the morning with gusty west winds. A thunderstom could appear in the early afternoon hours. Things begin to cool down lets say around 230 for showers into the evening. Thursday looks nice and dry however another storm brings more rain for friday into friday night.
FUN FACT: The tiny droplets of water that make up fog are so small that it would take seven thousand million of them to make a single tablespoonful of water.

week of the 4th forecast!
Hey y'all, sorry about not posting this weekend, was very busy. Snow lined the outlying mountains around UVM this weekend which made waking up very nice. My window looks out over the mountains, kinda feels like a hotel.
Portland-High pressure seems to be set in place. Morning fog will contribute to not as warm temps but the sunshine will be in full force in the afternoon. Flirt with 70 all week then break it friday when the dew point rises and we don't get that fog.
EUG-Same thing as portland, just subtract two-three degrees each day. Ptown is closer to the gorge which heats up the area more. <3
UtAH-After cold and wet weather utah looks to be drying out with portland. High pressure remains over head of Colorado providing ample sunshine. Highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Love y'all.
DEN-High pressure builds in for the week. Sunshine and ranging temperature will occur. Tuesday wind shifts directions and you heat up to about 74 degrees but then after tuesday we cool back down to about 60.
NY
NY WILL BE IN WARM SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW TUESDAY, SO IT SHOULD BE NOTICEABLY WARMER THAN
MONDAY. AFTERNOON INCREASING CLOUDS SHOULD PRECLUDE TEMPS FROM GETTING TOO WARM. POTENT Low LEVEL JET STREEM MOVES THROUGH NY AREA ON WEDNESDAY, WITH INCREASING DOWNWARD MOTION BEHIND COLD FRONT. THE RESULT WILL BE GUSTY WINDS IN THE 30-40 MPH RANGE, ESPECIALLY FROM THE AFTERNOON INTO THE EARLY EVENING HOURS. THEREFORE RAINNNN! ON WENDESDAY! love ya'll.
BOST We stay dry today and tomorrow, however, like ny strong cold front moves inland. This will provide heavy rain and even a tstorm in boston. Watch out for strong winds as the isobars are very close together on the map. Temps for the week in the mid 60s.
VERMONT-Dry Tueday looks to be the nicest day of the week. then like the rest of the NE area wendesday a cold front moves in from the west to provide showers. These could be heavy at times. Also watch out for the wind, gusts could be as high as 30 mph. Temps this week should be in the low 60s. Showers remain for wednesday night, however thursday seems dry.
FUNNN FACT-The average snow fall in Jan in VERMONT is 22 inches! wOOO!
Portland-High pressure seems to be set in place. Morning fog will contribute to not as warm temps but the sunshine will be in full force in the afternoon. Flirt with 70 all week then break it friday when the dew point rises and we don't get that fog.

9/30-10/2
October is coming and the end of september left with some force. Heavy rain here in the NE along with crazy rain in portland. Dails and paul will see SNOWFLAKES tonight after an 80 degree day yesterday. The weather is changing and i love it!
Portland-
Holla! Fall weather is here, the next three days look basically indentical. On shore flow will bring cloudy conditions along with chance of showers. No real system is out off the coast which means no organized rain. High will be around 63 for the remainder of the week. Hope the showers were fun yesterday! i watched the radar for a while, it seemed exciting!
EUGE-
Pretty much the same as portland, however, the farther south you are tomorrow the better weather. So tomorrow you'll see sunrays and a high of 66. Other than that look for passing showers and a high of 62 for thursday and friday.
Utah-
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/slc/ check out all the watches and warnings! you'd think it was december with all this! This cold air is due to the cold front that brought snow to Hood. Crazy enough your elevation is close to that of timberline, therefore look for snow showers into the evening. High today will be 45. BRRRRRR. You gradually warm back up thursday and friday with highs increasing to about 60 by friday. Friday looks to be sunny. Let me know about the snow fall!!! <3
Den
You all will feel the affects of dails snow but the moisture is stay towards utah more than denver. Therefore look for cool temps but not rain. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain then friday and saturday sunny with highs in the low 60s.
NY
Chuck is far more likely to see rain as he is further west meaning that this westerly flow we are getting dies down as you go further east towards fish. Chuck will see likely showers for the remainder of the week. Andy look for passing showers more or less. Highs will be in the low 50s heating up to 60 by friday.
BOST-
You guys seem to be having the best weather in the nation. Pretty seculded from the rain in the rest of the NE. mostly sunny for the next three days with highs in the mid to upper 60s.
VT-
Looking off to the west we have some pretty significant scattered showers. These could provide some heavy rain for brief moments but nothing like yesterday or the day before. TOmorrow we could see a passing shower or 2 much like today. Friday seems to be our one dry day for a while and we heat back up to 60.
FUN FACT: Hottest day ever was in El Azizia, Libya on Sept. 13, 1922 with a high temperature of 136 degrees F!

9/28-9/29
BUSY weekend. Speech and debate from 7 am to 9 pm saturday, followed by speech and debate from 7 to twelve today. Then had to make my graphics for the first live broadcast that aired tonight on UVM TV. Didn't do bad at all. Had a nice radar and five day forecst. Now im POOOPED. Time for bed after I do this update.
Portland!-A cold front moves in from the west tomorrow afternoon and into this evening. This will drop temps into the upper 50s with rain in the morning. Unsettled weather seems to be in place for the week as showers continully flow into the area. However after monday and tuesday there is are no organized systems to watch. So just expect rain monday night and tuesday then cloudy with rain here and there highs around 65 wend and thurs. Typical portland fall weather??
UTES-Tomorrow looks gorgeous. high of 81, this may be the last day for a while with these kinds of temps. Tuesday into tuesday night a cold front moves through to bring heavy rain and thunder for tuesday night. Wednesday showers and COLD. High of 51, and a low of 36. You may see SNOOOOOWWWWWW flakes! no sticking but would be cool to see. Love y'all very much.
DEN-Continual warming will occur these first could of days. Tomorrow sunny with a high of 71 then tuesday crank up the thermostat with a high of 82, and around the same temps for Wednesday. keep your eyes peeled wednes as a tstorm could pop up late afternoon.
NEW YORK-
Right now we are both getting hammered with heavy rain. This sort of weather will continue for you Monday with heavier showers in the afternoon tomorrow. Strong wet systems from the South seem to be common for the NE this time of year. High tomorrow of 71, then the next system Monday night is a cold front so drop temps 10-15 degrees for tuesday and wednesday.
Bostonians-YOu guys are lucky, the front is really missing the coastal regions, coming up the heart of the vallys. There for mostly cloudy tomorrow becoming sunny in the afternoon high of 73. Tuesday cloudy with possibities of passing showers. high of 69. HOPE ALL IS WELL LOVE BUGS!
Vermont-Wellllll you should be watching my forecast to get the weather here but i guess ill still do it for you. Tonight we are still under the influence of a heavy southerly flow which brings wet warm and windy weather (the 4 Ws). This unstable weather will stay in place for tomorrow which will birng possibilities of tstroms in the afternoon. Some cells could be strong and windy. Monday night a cold front comes in to drop temps through out the week. Temps tomorrow 69 and cooling from there to 62 and eventually 58 by thursday. HOLLA!
FFOTD: -40 degrees Celsius is equal to -40 degrees Fahrenheit. the only point of the scales that align

Ptown ballas-
Pretty typical late early fall pattern here. GORGEOUS in my opinion. Morning clouds and afternoon sun for today and tomorrow. THE EUGE!

Hi hi hi! school is going well, late nights of studying the past nights but I'm on to the home stretch of the week schedule wise. First live broadcast Sunday, ha this could be VERY BAD. VERY. But its cool, practice will be good. Lets look at the forecast!
PORTLAND!!!- Tomorrow looks gorgeous. Great way to start off fall, high pressure located over eastern oregon kicks the east wind to Ptown and as it runs down the mountain the air actually heats up, this is why its much hotter with this high pressure than previous. The high continues to move off to the east as a low brushes against it in northern BC. No rain, decreased temps for thursday and friday as more normal early fall weather kicks back in. High of 80 +-2 for thursday and friday.
Utes-Strong northerly flow is keeping temps about 6 degrees below seasonal average. Even with the low stationed over the plains Utah still has very dry air aloft so its hard to get rain with such dry air. As the low begins to decrease as will the North winds allowing temps to gradually, and i mean gradually warm up into the weekend. Expect ample sunshine with highs 72 tomorrow 73 thursday and 77 friday.
Denver!-Like for utah that low is essentially trapped in the plains. When the Jet stream is well to the north (see Portland's sunshine) lows pressure systems have nothing to move them out of the area. Therefore more rain for the next couple days. Areas around denver are actually seeing snow out of this system. Lows tonight in denever will be 36 so chilly, but no snow. Thursday the low will finally shift east allowing you to dry out a bit. High of 47 tomorrow, 56 thursday, and 62 friday. Sounds a bit more like fall weather for the weekend.
NY-SW flow has brought warm damp conditions to much of the NE. This will continue for tmorrow but not as strong. With the damp weather dew points will be rising because the air is already saturated so fog tomorrow morning is likely. High temps will be a bit warmer for thrusday with a high of 80 and even a chance of a Tstorm by chuck n pete. Thursday expect more drying as this moisture continues to weaken, but as it does we loose the SW winds which bring warm damp air to the region so temps will cool to around 75. Friday sunshine returns with a high of 73. Wuv you all very very much!
Bost!-Since this low is moving to the east, the terrain decreases your chance of seeing rain. still expect a couple showers tomorrow and thursday. Clearing begins friday as high pressure from canada comes on in to play. this will drop temps but open up the clouds! high tomorrow of 80, thursday 77 and 66 friday.
VT-Dry for the remainder of the night, so go hit up wings fest. tomorrow morning looks clear as well as the rain from today moves out. Then a pretty strong low from canada drops down tomorrow at around 2 or 3 to bring increased rain. Could be VERY heavy at times!Afternoon showers presist with high of 78. Thursday cloudy to start but decreasing clouds, high around 73 Friday, sunny with a high of 63. You may be saying DANNY! Sun friday but a high of 63 and rain tomorrow with a high around 80? you make no sense! WELLLLLL, it all depends on where you "air" is coming from. right now we have a strong SW flow which is bringing humid moist air, but also warm. Then friday a high pressure will build and and bring a north west wind, which will cool us off. During autumn this back and forth action tends to happen, you get a mixture of summer patterns and winter patterns. TAKE IT EASY Y'ALL!

9/20-9/22
Hey everybody, met with the local TV meteorologist on friday which was very neat. He and I are going to coordinate forecasts and graphics when I start doing UVM TV weather. Heres a look at the start of the week
Portland:You know there is good weather on the way when even the coast is reaching the 80s. STRONG ridge builds in and temps heat up. Hottest day being tuesday with temps are 92. For today expect morning fog due to the moisture yesterday, then sunshine with a high around 78.
Utah:A cold front passing over the state will drop temps significantly, however the moisutre associated with this front is stay to the east in the centeral plains. Expect mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s for the monday. Tuesday almost identical, maybe a few degrees warmer. Hope that duck game didn't bring down the UTES, still a fan.
Denver:OH BOY. Talk about a COOOOOOL off. The brunt of the cold front mentioned for Utah will be passing through denver around midnight tonight. This will drop temperatures down into the...50s...strong Northwest winds will cool you guys off. Expect showers in the morning but then dying off. Tuesday we warm up to 60 but still some unsettled conditions with chance for showers.
NYYY:A weak shortwave will pass through tomorrow to bring a slight chance of showers. More increased clouds than today. Temps will remain in the upper 70s for most of the state however this unsettled weather looks to remain in your area for a little while.
Boston: My place to be as of now. Sunny today ad tomorrow with highs in the mid 70s. The weak shortwave i was talking about in NY is trying to make its way E but when it gets to your area, really not much left. This means increased clouds for tuesday but still highs in the mid 70s.
VT:Monday looks gorgeous. High of 76 and mostly sunny. System comes out from the SE monday night into monday which will bring rain. We will be getting a strong south wind associated with this storm which will moderate temps and keep them in the 76 region. With this front expect some heavy showers and even a possible TSTORM. Which would be fun to see. Unsettled weather in place til Thursday.
FUN FACT OF THE DAY: A lightning bolt is five times hotter than the surface of the sun!

forecast 9/16 (andy's birthday), 9/17
Hello! I got a job as the UVM meteorologist! hahaha we go live in two weeks, and i have this week to train. I get to make my own computer models and talk in front of a green screen. hahah pretty funny. Now lets get to it!
Portland--
I am going to sound repetitive here for your forecast. As of now high pressure is building in for today and tonight bring sunshine and low to mid 80 temps. Then tomorrow a weakening cold front breaks the high pressure for some afternoon rain into the evening hours. High temperature for wednesday will be 79. Then after the low moves to the E high pressure builds back in for thursday and into friday with a high 76 thursday.
Utah <3
Boy I've spent way to move time checking out your radar the past couple days. An pacific cold front moves over Utah today for more showers and Tstorms. As this low spins east there is a dense pool for moisture and cooler air aloft mix that with surface heating like we'll see this morning and afternoon, this will spark Tstorms.
This storm will pass today and into tonight, leaving only a slight chance for any tstorms tomorrow as a strong ridge of high pressure builds in. Highs today 73 high tomorrow 81 and high thursday of 80.
DENVER-
Higher humidity could spark an afternoon thundershower or two but not very likely. Mostly sunny skies with high today 82, 78 tomorrow and 79 for thursday.
NYYYYYYYYYY-
Holla! a cold front that moved through VT is tracking south down New england and you guys will start so see showers tomorrow, but mainly thursday. High temps will be in the upper 60s and low 70s for up until thursday.
Boston!-
I hate to say it, but today might be the last warm and nice day for the year, could be wrong but its getting to that point where 80 degrees won't happen too often. So 79 today with mostly sunny skies. The cold front tracking S is more to the West so you guys wont feel it as much as NY will, only a couple of showers.High tomorrow will be around 60 with mostly cloud skies and showers, then thursday partly sunny with a high of 61.
Vermont-
After the rain cleared out last night, a ridge of high pressure builds in until thursday. Expect partly to mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 60s, a tad bit below normal for the year. Next chance for rain is friday as a cold front slips south from CANADA.
FFOTD-Astoria OR is the cloudiest city in the nation with an average of 240 days per year. Seattle and portland rank 4th and 5th with about 225 day per year.

9/14-9/15
Hello hello, another weekend down and another week ahead. School is great, had intramural soccer today, got very into it as expected. Saw Jslev today and yesterday, UP was playing in a tournament here. It was nice to see a familiar face for a change. Lets take a look at the weather for the start of the work weeK!!!
Portland OREGON not Oregone- For your monday high pressure will be broken down as an upper level trough passes by to drop temps to 75 with partly sunny skies. For tuesday we heat back up for a high of 85 and mostly sunny skies. Hope school is going well LHS.
Salt lake city utah-
A trough from montana is pooling moisture into your neck of the woods. Combined with warm humid temps we have perfect conditions to get heavy showers and Tstorms. Look for tstorms the next couple of days. Flood watches have been advised through much the area and heavy rain is very likely monday as a very slow upper level low moves across the state monday night through wednesday. Have fun in the storms! Highs will be 80 tomorrow and 71 tuesday!
http://sat.wrh.noaa.gov/satellite/loopsat.php?wfo=pqr&area=west&type=ir&size=16 watch as the thunder develops in the afternoon over utah. very cool.
Denver COLORADO-
Temps will recover as the cold front is done passing through. Models indicate slight chance for afternoon Tstorms but I say no. Temps in the low 80s with mostly sunny skies for your opening to the weak.
New york baby--Chuck and pete will see a strong ridge of high pressure build in for their start to the week. This means ample sunshine. Andy, since closer to the coast will still feel so affects of the onshore flow which will add clouds and a possible shower on tuesday. Highs in both locations 78 monday and 75 tuesday. Mucho loveo : )
Boston Massachusetts
Boy wet weekend you guys had (i think) from what the radars showed. Tomorrow you'll get great weather with a high of 78 and mostly sunny skies. Then same thing andy has you all have worse. Being close to the ocean, passing storms tend to brush up against your area much more frequent and heavier due to terrain not being able to weaken the low. High temp on tuesday of 74 with a maybe a sprinkle or two. i wuv you all!
Burlington Vermont
More humid air from the storm that past through NY is giving us a chance of afternoon showers tomorrow. As the sun hits the air saturated air molecules this causes the moisture to rise and by days end afternoon cumulus clouds are created leading to showers. High tomorrow of 73 and 68 tuesday. We clear out the clouds for wednesday but temps drop quite significantly to low 60s.
FUN FACT OF THE DAY-----The city with the least weather variety in the nation is San Fran followed by San diego. Lucky you ms davenport!

Weather for last half of the working week! 8/10-8/11
Hello everybody, summer is beginning to come to an end but the sun is still holding on in most locations. Hope everyone in portland is doing well, i'm having a great time in burlington. Much of the city of burlington is a lot like portland (atmosphere) however, much smaller. "Church st" is almost identical to 23rd with countless shops and restaurants.
PORTLAND!--A very weak front is moving from the pacific coast to north or and south wa. this will bring enhanced clouds and possible rainfal however in light amounts. Once this passes (and it will pass very quickly) a strong ridge of high pressure builds in to give much needed sun to portland. Temps today chilly in the low 70s then back around 82 and 90 for Thurs and Friday.
THE UTAH UTES- Dails hope your birthday was great, sounded like you had a great time. Glad to hear. I miss you both very mucho! Your weather looks great this week with a very strong ridge bringing warmer than average temps to your. Look for highs varying from 85+- 2.
The good ol' pioneer--Looking at your radar in the afternoon has been quite exciting. Heavy rains and flash flooding has occured in outlying areas. Not sure how much of that has directly hit you, however, with these storms location is random. Be on the lookout for convection as the day warms up. You might be asking well DANNY WHY AFTERNOON THUNDER STORMS?? well summer tstorms usually start off in the morning of a hot day with relatively high humidity. The heat of the sun causes an upward movement of the moisture into atmosphere which then meets cooler air at higher heights, is condensed into misty whisps of clouds. These clouds, usually nebulous, begin increase in size until about noon, or soon after, they have reached a towering size and the cloud masses extend to a great height. Then you have the ice crystals in the clouds at the highest elevations which created a negative charge and discharge on a land object giving you LIGHTNING! WOOO that was long! but other than the chance of afternoon localized thunderstorms, look for a high of 83 tomorrow and 70 friday as the cold air from oregon moves your way. <3 <3
Oranges/Raiders/and Great Danes
High pressure will hold strong for ONE more day! then a low pressure from the south will be bring rain tomorrow morning and into friday. Temps will be in the mid 60s for most of the region!
Eagles/Tufts
Storm off the coast of Virginia will bring breezy gale weather for tomorrow with wind gusts around 30 mphs. Then off and on showers for friday and saturday. A strong ridge builds back in for the beginning part of the week. Temps tomorrow and friday in the low 60s.
VT BABY-High pressure will still dominate our weather for today and tomorrow. Like NY the low system will continue north. However, as it reaches our area terrain and mountains will have weaken/destroyed most of the storm. That leads me to say slight chance of showers friday but mainly just increased clouds and lower temps. Temperature around 70 for our friday and saturday with another strong ridge building back in for Monday.
FuN FaCt OF THE DAYYYY---This is for Chuck and Pete mainly. On cold fall or winter morning steam can be seen coming of the great lakes. This steam causes massive clouds and snow downwind of the lake.

Back to School Portland 8/8-8/9 forecast
Back to school, back to school portland! sad to say, weather looks spectacular for next week, as it does in most places!
Portland----Radar is showing very little activity to the west of Portland leaving me to say showers are done for the metro area. Briefly a weak ridge builds back in for the return of some needed UV rays, however a brush from low pressure Tuesday to Wednesday will bring clouds over night. Then we crank up the thermostat for Thursday/Friday with temps back into the mid to upper 80s. First Friday of school looks to be perfect.
University of UTAH-Lookin at the barometer pressure is rising and looks as though your temps will rise as well. An upper level ridge will dominate your weather this week with highs back towards 90s.
The Pioneers- A shortwave is passing through Wyoming/colordo today and tonight. a shortwave known as Shortwave Trough is a disturbance in the mid or upper part of the atmosphere which induces upward motion ahead of it. This upward motion and lead to convection as the energy flows up. Temps will be in the upper 80s for tues/wednes, but then a cold front passes through dropping temps about ten degrees for thursday. Welcome to school!
NY STATE OF MIND
Quebec high pressure for the next two days, however then a low from south will come up north and be just south of Long Island Thursday. This disturbance will bring showers to the NY state. Temps for the next two days low 80s for chuck/pete, mid 70s for fish. Chuck could see rain drops a little before fish. Temps drop into the upper 60s as the cold front moves north. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Red Sox Nation
Monday/Tueday look nice with highs mid to low 70s. Same cold front NY expierences will hit you guys Thursday and into friday with coolder temps around 65 for thursday/friday. Love you girls!
The catamounts
Tueday will be the nicest day of the week, that is if you like warmer weather. High tomorrow 78 then a cool off begins. We will not see the front from NY get here as it drifts to the east, however increased clouds and cooler temps by thursday and friday. highs will in the upper 60s and low 70s for wed/thur/fri with sun still shining for most of the day.
FUN FACT OF THE DAY!!!!---The highest ever recorded land wind speed was 231 mphs atop mount washington in New Hampshire. However a doplar radar once recorded wind speeds at 287 in a tornado.

But after a week of warm weather in the upper 80s you will start to cool down as the front passing through oregon makes its way over to your next of the woods.
NY BOYS
Chuck and pete can see a shower of two Monday and monday night due to being closer to the Great lakes and upward draft that goes a long with his location. Andy since you are farther away you will only get increased clouds. High pressure builds back in and sunshine returns. Highs in the mid 70s to low 80s.
Bostonians- Ample amounts of sunshine, however temps vary a significant amount! a cold front will pass over Sun-monday night will little chance for precip but will bring temps down. However another strong ridge from the good ol candians will bounce your thermometers right back up to the 80s for tuesday. Hope all is well!!

Opening forecast for Labor day weekend at 9/4
Hello everyone! 4 days completed on the first week of college, already feels like i've been here for a month. Weather-wise here in VT its been absolutely perfect, really reminds me of portland summers. Except right now the weather is not cooperating like it normally does for labor day weekend.
Portland--Hope camping is not in your labor day forecast because expect to see some moisture. Friday will shape up to be better than today with partly sunny skies as high pressure builds back in for your friday. However friday night into saturday a front will pass to the north with the brunt of the moisture going into BC, however a secondary front will stay further to the south bring SW WA and NW OR rainfall and showers. Unusually cool weather for Saturday into sunday with SNOW levels at about 8000 feet. High in PTOWN of about 67.
UTAHHHHHHHHHHHHH--- Paul and spence, look for some Tstorms as moisture from the south meets some warmer air in your neck of the woods. Most of the convection will stay in the terrain but like i said yesterday it is still possible to get some Tstorms popping off. PS...if its been a bit hazy there its because of a fire burning to the west! let me know how im doin!
Vermont/NY/Boston--Still expect sunshine but i front will pass of the coast which will bring cooler temps for the weekend but still PLENTY of sunshine. A strong ridge will build back in and warm back up for most of next week. The closer to the coast you are the cooler your temps will be. Boston drops into the high 60s whereas Albany stays in the upper 70s. Still sunshine all around!
BOISE ST UNIVERSITY NIGHT TIME- Clear skies and perfect weather for a wamping victory. OREGON 41 BS 31.
FuN FaCt Of ThE DaY--Hundreds of birds die every year because of Boise St's blue turf field. However today the duck will prevail. GO O

Forecast for 9/3
Hey ya'all. Figured I would sound redundant with the sunny forecast so i took yesterday off and finished 3 hours worth of homework (second day). Luckily you Portlanders are giving me something to talk about, so lets have at it.
PORTLAND, OREGON- Today will shape up to be b-e-a-utiful, with highs hovering around 80, however, off shore there is a pretty strong storm that is lifting to the north, but will break down our high pressure and give us chance of shower and clouds. Then BRIEFLY high pressure builds back for your friday. Then things get a little dicey. There is a front approaching the OR/WA coast friday night and into saturday, however, computer models have it stalling around the oregon coast then moving N. This will bring showers to Portland for saturday, but not the full brunt of it. Highs for your labor day weekend....65-69 :( At least it won't be sunny while you're sitting in class!
Utah Homeboys----I GET TO SAY SOMETHING! So high pressure will hold for the next day or so, but then Moisture for S Utah will generate possibilities of TStroms. I am hesititant to say you'll see any, but since you guys are located right next to the mountains the possibilities are there. Mountains and higher terrain are much more susceptible to TStorm since you can get an Isentropic lift with the mountains. (Vocab word) Ha let me know if you see any Thunder.
East Coasters- We are all looking great. Highs towards 80 this week with a bit of cooling for the weekend. Especially here in Vermont, expect highs this weekend in the low 70s but sunny skies.
FuN FaCt Of ThE DaY: At any time, there are about 1,800 thunderstorms occurring in the Earth's atmosphere.

First Forecast! (again)
Hey guys, trying to keep in touch and brush up on my weather around the US. Learned today that Burlington will be below -20 for two-three weeks! ah.
SO...PORTLAND-Friday will be cloudy day. High pressure that has brought you all great weather is moving east allowing a weak disturbance to move in from the north. For the weekend though, high pressure builds back in and allows for some great portland weather. High tomorrow 75 with mostly cloud skies and maybe a drizzle. Saturday partly sunny with a high of 76. Sunday mostly sunny high of 82.
UTAH!
PAUL AND DAILS <3 Jealous of your weather. Nothing in sight. Highs in the lows 90s and upper 80s all week. Have funnnnN!
NY BOYS
Chuck welcome to Cuse. Heavy Rain and some thunder expected for your next two days. A deep supply of Tropical Moisture will move in and continue and react with a warm front coming across the area. Outter bands from tropical storm DANNNY!!! will give you a soaker. Have fun NY boys! Fish and pete hope all is well!
Fun Fact of the day----Evidence has shown that Prehistoric climate in oregon was far more tropical. A boy in portland once found a fossilized banana which leads scientists to believe this.
