Hey guys, welcome back to school. Winter weather is taking a break across the country. I hope everyone's break went well, now lets take a look at the weather around.
Portland-
A very active jet stream is driving storm after storm in california where they have seen upwards 3 feet of snow in the mountians. Here in portland though we have seen showers circling around the lows to our south. This south to north movement is not optimal for snow fall in the cascades, but I think things should freshen up by mid week next week. For your friday, a chance of showers, with a high around 45, friday night a weaker system moves in which will linger into saturday. High of 44 saturday with mostly cloudy skies. Sunday the strongest storm moves in and will bring a good shot of snow to the cascades and a high of 43 in portland. Have a great weekend!
Utah
Storms moving west from cali will bring snow fall to your mountains and a little warmer than average temps. High tomorrow will be around 39 with snow/rain showers. Friday night though temps will drop in the upper 20s to bring about 2-3 inches of fresh powder to slat lake. The snow on the ground will keep the air from warming so saturday expect another 3-5 inches of snow and a high around 34. Sunday you will dry out and stay cool with a high around 31 with mostly cloudy skies.
Denver
Surprisingly this is average weather for this time of year in denver. The snow that will affect utah stays to the south of denver however, will bring cooler temps by the weekend. TOmorrow clouds will be begin to break and a high of 47 and similar on saturday. Sunday though you cool off to about 34 with partly sunny skies.
NORTH EAST!
A big ridge of high pressure is making my job easier! Sunny skies for today tomorrow and satuday. Sunday a deep storm is traking from south to north that will bring possible ice, but as of now it looks more damp than slick (rain over ice). For the weekend expect highs in the mid 30s for NY and boston and upper 20s for Vermont. This rain this weekend could be detrimental to the snow here. Heavy rains and snow already on the ground could make surrounding areas very wet. Stayed tuned!
